Hiking
The best way to get to know San Luis Obispo is on foot. For a bird's-eye
view of one of the most beautiful small towns in America, you can hike one of
the seven volcanic peaks, locally known as the Seven Sisters.
Terrace Hill, the smallest of the seven peaks, is a stone's throw from the hostel. From the top of Terrace Hill, you'll see the older part of the city, the downtown center, vineyards and farmland beyond.
Hiking Time: 1 hour
San Luis Peak: After a moderately-strenuous hike, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views. From the summit, you will see 20 miles of coastline, from the Oceano Dunes to Pismo Beach and Morro Bay, along with inland valleys of farms and vineyards.
Hiking Time: 2 hours
Bishop Peak is about two miles from the hostel. It is a rocky, more difficult climb than San Luis Peak, and the views from the top are similar. The trail is well-marked and maintained by the Sierra Club.

We have bicycles of various styles. $10/day including helmet and lock. We also
have recumbent bicycles for $15/day.

San Luis Obispo county buses all have bike racks. You can ride a bicycle 12
miles to the beach and after a day of fun in the sun, come home to the hostel
on the bus.

excursions during your stay.
